i tried some great northern beans several days ago and felt horrible....i only ate a small amount too. even used spices like cumin/cardamom and cooked them well. garbanzos seem ok for me. as a vata ayurveda recommends against pretty much all beans & lentils for me but i like them and they are a better source of some protein/carbs without fat. recommended are things like aduki beans, mung beans, red lentils, black lentils but they are more expensive and harder to find. i do have some aduki beans that i may try out, i can never seem to find lima beans which i used to eat.
what do you think? should i follow the vata ones? thing is ayurveda also recommends stuff i know is bad and wont eat too like dairy & wheat.
