Re: High-carb diet works as candida cure!

Faith110, may I ask you to clarify what you mean by feeling 'too stimulated'?

Also, 1/2 cup is a little over 100grams, which is how much I typically consume also. Assuming we're talking about dried (and not cooked) rice, I don't believe this is such a large quantity - especially when combined with servings of vegetables, fish, beans, etc.

In the evening, before going to bed, I will weigh the dry rice, then wash it a few times before adding a little salt, a touch of oil, and sufficient clean water. I use a rice cooker, and set it to start automatically in the morning, so the rice softens in the water for a few hours before it even starts cooking. I'm also using germinated brown rice, which is more nutritious than regular brown rice, while also being a little easier to digest.

If I'm particularly hungry I will eat this quantity of rice for lunch (with veggies and mung beans), but if not, I'll spread it over lunch and dinner.

Regarding grains causing (or at least contributing to) leaky gut, this may well be true. However, I maintain that there are many communities throughout the world that have eaten rice and other grains for centuries.
