Re: Constant moisture theory
For about 4 months now I've been using Aquaphor Lip Repair at night and Lavera Sensitiv + SPF 5 Lip Balm during the day. This combination hasn't cured me, but it's made living with this condition a whole lot easier.
For the most part the skin just comes off on it own in the shower without any burning, stinging or pain and by the end of the day they feel a little dry, but that's it. They look and feel 90% normal. I still have that triangular area on the upper lip that most of us have, but I think the only person that seems to notice or care is me.
I've been experimenting with cleansers because the lip balm has to completely come off at the end of the day for the Aquaphor to work properly. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser seems like a good option since it's meant to help maintain and restore the skin barrier, but I'm not sure yet.
I've also been thinking about trying Dovonex, maybe Protopic. I'm not expecting a miracle, but I think slightly decreasing the peeling and restoring more of the natural color would make a world of difference for me.
