Re: 2 months post Mirena removal: chest pains, hip pain, and more. Anyone else?
I'm sorry! I know that the doctors will swear until the end that the IUD can't cause your issues, but trust your body and your instincts. I had my IUD out 3 years ago because I was having a whole range of frightening, bewildering symptoms (heart problems, joint pains, extreme fatigue, and some other neurological issues). AFTER I had it out, I developed problems with my blood vessels (similar to Raynaud's) which was a brand new symptom, as well as lymph node pain in my armpits, just as you described it. I also had swollen glands in my neck. I also developed severe shakiness in my whole body. It was strange to me that some of these symptoms appeared AFTER the IUD was out. So yes, I fully believe that the hormone fluctuations can cause these things. The IUD can cause an autoimmune reaction as well, often involving joint pain. Perhaps you were on just on the brink of reacting to the IUD, and having it removed upset your physical balance enough to create these symptoms. I also had a ton of tests, and everything was normal. So trust yourself and hang on. Personally, I feel that any woman with the Mirena, even if they are asymptomatic still, is better off with the IUD out. I believe that 100%. I can't think of a time when it would be healthier to have the IUD in.
I'm glad you have it out and hope you recover quickly! Try to be patient and good to your body. You'll improve in time. Some of us recover quickly, and some take longer, but at least you're on the right path. Keep posting and let us know how you're doing!
Take care,
Diana
