I am getting my Mirena taken out tomorrow after having it for just about four years. The first year was great, my periods went away and I didn't have to think twice about birth control. I was in a new relationship and we were pretty serious but no where ready for kids. It was head aches, back pain, weight gain, and a major change in my attitude. I got my feelings Hirt over the stupidest things and would just want to burst out in tears. But the back pain got so so bad. I was in a car accident the same year I got my Mirena, 2009, and always thought the pain was from beig rear ended.. I went to so many doctors, doing ct scans and MRI's, blood work.. Never found anything. About a year later te stomach problems started, and they came with major anxiety. I was diagnosed with ibs, adbim hoping after its out that will clear up too :( My hair is so thin. I had absolutely no libido. The pains and headaches were getting more constant. That's when I started doing research in the Mirena. And man I can't even believe how many of us are suffering all these same symptoms an that all our doctors deny its the Mirena. I'm am beyond anxious about tomorrow but I'm just looki forward to gettin better now. Good luck to you on your recovery as well! I'm interested tk hear how the removal process goes for you and you're feeling afterwards. Take care
