I am a single male, this '7 year itch' was acquired through through some stupid sex. The herpes is definitely staying in remission. Symptoms disappeared about three weeks into the high dose Lugols regime. This was a very severe case, with angular chelitis cracks at the corners of my mouth and debilitating neuralgia in my right foot. Serious stuff, not just cold sores. The interesting thing is that the scarred places on my face began peeling off, with new perfect skin formed underneath. No more disfigurement!
