Re: Are these symptoms related to candida overgrowth? Help requested.
"My primary care doctor says there are no tests for candida overgrowth."
Yeah, my Dr said the same thing but, it's not true.
"Blood Test
An Anti-Candida Antibodies, or Candida Immune Complexes test. There are 3 antibodies that should be tested to measure your immune system's response to Candida - IgG, IgA, and IgM. High levels of these antibodies indicate that an overgrowth of Candida is present. This is the most reliable test for Candidiasis that you can find."
Had to take a print out showing what the actual test was from the local lab to my Dr which immediate resulted in him ordering the test.
A common issue with candida is leaky gut. Candida turns fungal and bores through the intestinal lining which enlarges the pores allowing large molecule food particles to enter the blood stream which the body mounts an immune response to the 'invaders' with every meal. This leads to all sorts of allergy/histamine reactions such as your sinus and hives issues. The constant heightened immune response exhausts the immune system and wears down the adrenal/thyroids which regulates the immune system through hormones - basically a negative feedback loop of which came first.
Low body temps are a red flag of adrenal fatigue and/or hypothyroid. Your weight issues could be associated with this as well since the thyroid regulates metabolism among so many body systems. Don't freak out too much as these are very commonly intertwined: leaky gut, candida, adrenal fatigue, hypothyroid etc.....Just about everyone who has candida has them to some degree. They are slow healers and stress is counter productive to healing adrenals/thyroids.
A comprehensive candida protocol addresses these, albeit subtly but, the more you research the more you will see how nutrition and supplements for treating either one condition is included with the others. Too strict of a low carb diet may make one worse simply from stressing the body which is already overly stressed.
Iodine supplementation along with
Iodine co-factor vits/mins can greatly aid thyroid function.
Sorry it's so mind boggling to dive into these complicated body systems: it's taken me along time to have the little grasp I do have. I'm no expert and suggest you keep seeking as much as possible to determine what's right for you.
Blessings.
