Although there are no essential carbohydrates, they definitely are not evil.
Excess carbohydrate consumption is the cause of many problems. In particular, refined carbohydrates. I would say limit yourself to 50-100g of carbohydrate a day from quality sources such as sweet potato, fruits and veg. (possibly non-gluten) and see how you get on from there - unless you are medically diagnosed with needing a ketogenic diet, I would say it is not necessary.
But, if you find your wellbeing is improved, then keep it up :-)
There are studies out there pointing to long term low carb diets causing a lower T3 output. Read into that what you will.
