Son deteriorating after pesticide exposure - HELP!
I'm hoping someone can help me... this is my first post although I read cure-zone all the time.
We had a tick infestation in our home and two of my children had been bit. They were everywhere and can get out of hand quickly. We were so scared of the diseases that ticks harbor and under so much stress that instead of using my brain (I typically avoid pesticides and chemicals) I went the traditional route to eradicate them. This included HEAVY DUTY pesticide sprays and dusts used in a cyclical nature in our home and outside for three treatments over the course of two months. In my mind I figured, "I'm so good about avoiding all this junk that this one time won't kill us... the ticks are more dangerous than the poison."
At any rate, our 7 year old son who has ADD tendencies but was well controlled with diet and was sharp as a tack, has suddenly become a different child. I am sure it's the pesticides because with hindsight, I can see when the deterioration began correlates a few weeks after the first treatment. He has started becoming SEVERELY ADD and almost autistic like... arm flapping, making noises, can't concentrate at all, wandering, not being aware of where he is in space, etc. School called a meeting because he had regressed from a calm, happy, cooperative child to what I described above.
Help me fix this! I'm overcome with guilt and I need to help him. My other two children seem unaffected although who knows what's going on in them but my son has always been more sensitive to things. We are renting this home and the pesticide is on the carpets, beds, furniture, etc. It's similar to bed bug treatment where they really carpet EVERYTHING with poison.
How do I detox him? How do I get rid of the chemicals in him and our space? I have my husband looking at other rentals today I'm so desperate to get him out of the environment but it's all over our stuff, too!
Please tell me I didn't destroy my son's brain forever. I feel so guilty... I was trying to protect them and I ended up hurting them instead. :(
