It's all about greed.  Pit money against humanity and money wins hands down every time with Big Pharma.  Big Pharma sees us not as humans but as individual profit centers that they have exclusive rights to.  There is no profit in curing, but lots of profit in treating symptoms with unnatural compounds which have side effects that lead to the need for more treatments with more unnatural compounds in a never-ending cycle until death or lack of money or insurance do you part.

You know, when it comes to numbers it isn't just the deaths caused by drugs. It's also the lives that COULD have been saved but weren't due to using unnatural compounds which treat or mask symptoms instead of curing.

Quite the paradox for Big Pharma.  They don't care about us, but neither do they want to kill us.  They want as many of us to be as sick as possible for as long as possible (provided there is money or insurance to cover it).
