With insurance, the safety nets are there to protect the car companies, who let people buy cars on credit. If your car is already paid for, your insurance is not going to pay anything, and insurance is nothing but a skam, and a waste of money.

I was backing very slowly out of a parking space a while back and got creamed by a lady who was driving by and didn't see me backing out. They said it was my fault for backing into her. My visibility was impaired by a big truck, and that is why I was backing out very slowly.

A few months later, I was driving through a McDonalds parking lot when a lady backed out of a parking space without seeing me, and hit my car. Exact same thing as above. Only I was the one that got hit. She told them I was going too fast, and they decided it was my fault for not stopping to let her out. I had just turned left in a busy parking lot 20 feet previously.

How fast could I have been going?

I wish I had thought to mention how fast the lady was going who hit me when I was backing out...
