I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer specifically
the questions you have. Seems to me toxins in the
body could affect hair loss though. Its a little off
topic, but the last 2-3 months I've been using
light in a certain wavelength, either 590nm or maybe
660nm, sorry but I can't remember which one (I have
light panels that emit both). Anyway its the "red"
wavelength. My hair was really, really thin on the
crown, and now has pretty much grown back in. Looks
pretty good. I got my panels here:

I've seen helmets you can make yourself, other companies
with lights too. Anyway you might research yourself
and see if its something you might try.
I use mine 3x week for 12 minutes total. The panel is
small so I have to use it 3 times.
