Well I'm a bit confused ... my Dentist diagnosed cavitation on # 12 area. I have never had a root canal anywhere, # 12 has a pure porcelin crown and 13 & 14 both have gold inlays (he wants to replace those too). I had # 16 extracted probably 20 years ago. So from what I'm reading on here most everyone had the root canal or extraction as the cause of the cavitation. Just don't understand why he's referring to # 12 opposed to 16 where the extraction was, unless that whole side is infected. Any thoughts?? Can you get the bone infection from other things too?
