Re: Anyone actually been diagnosed with Trichinellosis

I am not sure of your location in my area ND's can prescribe prescription medication. I agree with your statement re research and being informed as a patient. My gp never went over test results with me but my ND takes the time to read and explain and answer any questions I have. I currently see him twice a week for a customized meyers cocktail shot as well as a customized inhalation treatment. If I need to I can drop by his office and speak with him or call him - he has even offered to go the the hospital with me for testing etc. He has picked up meds for me at a compounding pharmacy. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful doctor. He does use holistic and natural products and prices are better and of medical grade quality then in a health food store. He is more then willing to adjust medication if needed- I had concerns re swelling as I do weigh myself everyday and noticed my weight had fluctuated from 99lb to 108 in two days after finishing a short round of predsidone and prazi . My face was swollen and my large muscle areas- legs butt etc. He adjusted the daily amount and after taking for 12 hours my weight had dropped to 103. I also take products to help aid digestion reduce bacteria and fungal issues brought on by the parasite. Currently have a infection of the inner middle ear canal as well as in the hollowed out bone behind my ear. The bone has been eaten by infection and seems to be a little nesting spot or resting spot for the hook and tape I am suffering with. I have perferations in my ear canals from worms or the trich and travel for all is made easier. I have had this infection off and on reqularily for a year now. My gp told me it was excema swimmers itch seemed okay. I must drain and clean and rinse my whole sinus area often during the day and each time it can be very painful depending whats up in there. I did take Antibiotics several times over the first few months but it never totally cleared up nor did the worms being expelled stop although they have reduced in size and numbers. No doubt a combination of the meds and supplements and hygiene. I have found helpful info on trich when looking at the medical research end rather then the standard cdc etc. These sites tend to discuss animals more then humans and assume most infections are caught within early stage so not to helpful for my concerns. Funny thing is if trich can not be controlled in livestock herds they cull the herd. I would encourage you to see a doctor if you suspect trich - they do not really diagnose easily unless mass outbreak. More common in people who are hunters or eat game in North America.of course if you have traveled it would be a possibility as well.I hope you get some answers and direction for treatment. Keep us informed
