Son's Appendix Removal and My Angst.

Good day, MH.

I am an MH subscriber (#6 or 7 story from 2011, I think), and hope you are willing to share your thoughts on my situation.

My 14 year old son (6'6, 135 lbs - a tall, athletic, lanky but very thin child) who is scheduled to have his appendix removed next month. In July, it ruptured and he spent 4 days in the hospital. They could not/would not operate immediately because they said the infection to was bad. So, he was put on obscene amounts of infection medication, which was required to be continued at home for another week via an at home intravenous IV that we had to administer. Now that the infection has cleared, they scheduled surgery to remove it.

I have been an avid MH subscriber and believer for the past few years. So, you can only imagine how conflicted I am in dealing with the doctors' Standards of Care crap they use to justify why it has to come out. My husband is not a 'believer' in questioning doctors....rather, he just believes they are the doctors and know what is supposed to be done. I immediately wanted our son to stop food intake, begin intense juicing/fasting and other suggestions I have read for this ailment, but hubby is not hearing me! This has caused great tension in our handling of this situation, and I am at my wits end. I do NOT want them to take out my son's appendix!!!

Over the years, I've read a lot on CZ and your pages and have learned enough to know that it was put there for a reason....several in fact. But, my husband is 'going with flow'....and, it's killing me. You may not be able to solve that issue with trying to convince my husband, but perhaps you (or anyone else) can offer something to ease my worries over them removing it....because it seems I cannot convince the hubby otherwise. So, if it 'has' to be done, maybe there are things I can have my son do/eat/drink afterwards that may assist in post-removal effects?

I don't know...I just need some advice....Thank you!
