Hi, My pH is also 8.5 and I eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables and pretty much a diet like yours. I have done a lot of research on this and it seems that a pH of 8.5 is not a bad thing at this level cancer cells die and many other diseases cannot survive in a 8.5 alkaline environment. I have never heard of your bones being cannibalized with this reading. Sounds like you maybe be lacking iron if your not menstruating. You may also need to increase the fats in your diet if you are concerned about weight loss. Also the body does need some carbs for energy. You should make sure you take a multi vitamins with minerals to make sure you are getting everything you need with a mostly raw diet. Do more research from different sources about 8.5ph balance to get a realistic definition on what that reading means. Hope this helps a little
