I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida where ~who knows~ what new mutated funk is rolling onshore daily. The oil spill didn't help, but isn't that what nature is doing anyway? I mean mutating, adapting, changing...
A few years ago before the big oil spill there was a really bad red tide(algae bloom), which killed so many stingrays they filled the canal. We bagged a ton of them for pick up... ruuude as hell! Some of them were old ones, 3 ft. across. I shudder to think of the parasites they probably carried, besides the red tide itself.
Back then I knew nothing about parasites and how easily they can be transmitted. Who needs to leave the country to catch some thing!
