Okay so I have been wondering about this for years. I have noticed that the lununa (that is the small circular white part at the bottom) on each of my nails has gotten smaller over time. A while back they used to be much larger and present on all fingers, now they are only visible on my thumbs and only just a bit visible at the bottom. I have tried researching what it means if someone has small lunula as opposed to larger and I can't find a definite answer but it seems like some people say small lunula means you are hypothyroid and too large lunula means you are hyperthyroid. Would be interesting to take a poll and see if most people that think they are hypothyroid actually do have small lunulas. I know this is kind of strange but I have always felt there was a specific reason that my lunulas have decreased in size. Also a note that when I had malaria about 5 months back my lunulas completely disappeared and were not visible at all so that seems that it would mean the smaller the lunulas the worse the health.
