Re: Possible Toxic Black Mold Exposure from my dorm, what can I do?

I'm going through concerns about black mold right now. The home I grew up in is the one I moved back to with my husband. We always had mold in the back bathroom (his bathroom), but not so much in mine. I developed a rare autoimmune disorder 17 years ago after my son was born, and my husband's bathroom became overwhelmed with black mold EVERYWHERE. I didn't think the two things were related until LATER. I nearly died from my own illness. But neither of us knew how serious the mold can be...

Later, my husband started to get terrible reflux (which I had at the start of my illness). Most people in the city have had reflux and it's related to cancer.... He Quickly got cancer of the esophagus. I can't stand the thought that it was from the mold, but he did leave his toothbrush in that bathroom for weeks or months. Looking back, he had many of the signs. After being mis-diagnosed and battling 10 years, he finally left this earth in January of 2011. Today is his birthday. He would have been 54.

This mold grows in the soil around here, so it's not very avoidable. We recently saw it in our yard, and still don't know what to do because we can't mow the grass. It's also in the water pipes where they broke and were opened up to fix over the years.

The AMA admits that esophagus cancer has been rising to 600% of what it once was, but they refuse to say what could be causing it. I had to diagnose my own rare muscle disease myself(biopsies confirmed I was right) because doctors ignored me at first. I also have studied enough to believe that AN INFECTIOUS AGENT IS CAUSING THE CANCER RATE TO RISE. But how to prove such a thing? People barely listened when I diagnosed both me, and then my husband...(right both times). Please keep track of your health for the rest of your life. Checking sooner and getting the correct diagnosis could have saved my dear husband. I don't mean to alarm you, but some people do get ongoing infections...

As for me and my son--we still don't know what to do. Please feel free to make any suggestions.
