Can worms cause heart palpitations?
Hi everyone,
I realized I had a worm infection about a year and a half ago, and took medication that got rid of it (or so I thought at the time). However, a few months ago, I developed these really weird heart palpitations/flutters. They didn't hurt or anything, but they were definitely unusual in that my heart would suddenly start to flutter/twitch rapidly out of nowhere. The weirdest thing about them is that they would often happen right when I would sit down to eat a meal. I couldn't help but wonder if I had a reinfection of worms and they were somehow causing the heart flutters.
Luckily, I still had plenty of deworming medication laying around from my last battle with them. Specifically, I had pyrantel, mebendazol, albendazole, and praziquantel.
So I went through all of the meds one after the other, according to dosages I found on medical sites online. And guess what? By the end, the heart palpitations had disappeared!
Just goes to show that there is no limit to how many symptoms these things can bring with them.
