fasting for Depression is very very effective.
IF or Intermittent fasting is fine for Depression so a break once a week would be ok.

Post fasting when you are eating normally, I would strongly recommend supplemental Vitamin D3 of at least 10,000ius per day, or half an hour of sun-exposure which produces up to 20,000ius per day; be careful not to go pink or burn. Short and frequent sun-exposure is best. Judicious sunbathing is usually recommended whilst fasting.
