You certainly did give us something to think about. I think it would boil down to whether or not a person's spirit bears witness that they are a child of God as described in Romans. Remember the people who did wonderful works in his name, etc., and yet were still workers of iniquity were also people that Jesus said He never knew. A person in this situation, who wants to put their salvation to the test, should examine their intimacy with Christ. I really don't think that the workers of iniquity had an intimate relationship with Christ and I believe Jesus says that when He said, "Depart from me for I never knew you."
