Re: Blind leading the blind
The fear of doctors that some of us have is not irrational at all. The aversion comes about because orthodox medicine is unable to effectively treat many conditions, unwilling to consider the person as a whole (mind-body-spirit), and is focused on disease and not on health - a vital state of optimal function and wellbeing that will naturally arise when there is balance and appropriate support (i.e. rest, herbs, fasting, nutrition, zest for life, love etc.).
I came to Curezone to find a greater level of health than orthodox medicine could offer, and I did find what I was looking for.
The BMI can be useful for sure, but it is just one of many factors that influences or gauges health. While it is a significant factor in some disease, it is not in others.
By the way, my doctor has never once asked me about my height or weight. I can't remember any doctor over the last 25 years ever checking my height or weight. Are you sure that this is the first thing they do??
As for medical treatment for trauma (accidents, fractures) and emergency situations (poisonings, MI, stroke etc.), of course medical doctors and emergency personnel are necessary. But don't assume that because they have expertise in this area, they must also have similar ability in all other areas of treating physical dysfunction. How much nutrition does a physician study - a few hours over their entire medical course? What do they know about therapeutic herbs? Nothing. How can they show their patients ways to permanently avoid a cholecystectomy? They probably can't. I could go on and on here ... but my point simply is that they are limited in their ability to support a state of vibrant health. Curezone members generally want a level of health beyond that of a couch potato.
I agree that there is some rubbish on C-zone, so the health seeker must do their research and sift through it, taking what is useful to them. Then again, what one sees as rubbish, another may embrace and heal their life with it - liver flush, iodine, kavala gandoosha, calcium hydroxide drinks, poetry and more....
