Re: Suggestins for puzzling symptoms

Hv and anyone else having an opinion or suggestion: I was speaking with an aquaintance today and found out that her young daughter ( age 29) is having some real problems and doctors cannot find out what it is. Here is what is it NOT: MS, lymes disease, muscles test good. Here are her symptoms: pain ( sometimes severe) from her waist down. It is not localized, and she cannot walk much due to the pain. She needs a wheelchair to be anywhere other than home, and many times must crawl up the stairs pulling herself by her arms. She has had MRI's, CAT scans.... the whole nine yards, but not one doctor has been able to make any type of diagnosis. Anyone have any ideas on what thhis might be and what may be causing it... how to help? Thanks to all who answer!!

I can think of several possibilities but that really is limited information.  There are a number of different forms of neuropathy.  It can also be from a tumor or nerve compression.

Was this a gradual or sudden onset?  Did she have any injuries or procedures shortly before the onset?  Can she describe the pain better such as sharp, pulsating, chronic, deep, superficial, crushing, etc?  Anything seem to make it feel worse or relieve the pain?
