Re: Stomach Issues

I feel like i'm returning to my normal self little by little BUT believe that my stomach now is the last issue. I tried doing digestive bitters but the alcohol in it was not good for me right now.

There are several ways around the alcohol. Gaia Herbs makes an alcohol free bitters called "Sweetish Bitters".  It is glycerine based instead.  Or you can simply get a bitter herbal powder like gentian root and put a pinch in your mouth, suck on it for a seconds then swallow.

My issue is the following:

food in stool.
green stool and not solid.
stomach feels like its burning at night. Like its sunburned inside.

The burning could be from gastritis or an ulcer.  Gastritis can have several causes.  You can try a mixture of slippery elm and licorice root to coat the stomach and reduce inflammation.  Also make sure to stay away from nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.  These block the production of the stomach's protective lining.

I was told to add HCL along with stuff to help digest the food but am scared the HCL may have made thing worse?

It can if you are not generating a protective lining on the stomach or if you do have gastritis or an ulcer.

Many ulcers are caused by H. pylori bacteria that releases ammonia neutralizing stomach acid.  This can interfere with proper digestion.

I'm now thinking of starting mastig gum for inflammation and L-glutamine to heal my stomach. I'm taking a lot of pro-biotics and kefir.

Mastic gum would be great in addition to the licorice root I mentioned earlier in case there is an ulcer.

Also, what is good to help recover skin collagen loss? Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is one, and silica primarily. Try to get your vitamin C from natural sources as much as possible.

Gotu kola is also good for increasing your collagen levels.

And gelatin is a good source of the amino acids needed for collagen and elastin production if you have sufficient stomach acid to make sure it is broken down properly.   The protein digestive enzyme pepsin is acid dependent for proper function.

Part of the problem though is that if you are not breaking down your food properly you may not be getting the amino acids needed for collagen and elastin formation.  Sufficient stomach acid is needed in order to break proteins down properly.

I really want to regain my stomach and i know my doctor will tell me to start on prilosec if I can't figure this out.

Prilosec can make a lot of things worse.
