Re: Nice try, Troll

sn't Curezone (in theory) supposed to be about freedom of speech and openly discussing the pros and cons of different protocols?

Supposed to be.  But it has not been.

Is anyone who thinks that Lugol's iodine is harmful going to be attacked?

Yes.  And not just Lugol's, but iodine in general.  I am not the only person to ever be attacked for questioning the safety of iodine.  Funny thing is that I agree iodine is essential to the body.  My issue is the fact that people are recommending excessive doses, especially for some conditions where it is contradicted, and the going on the warpath against anyone pointing out potential dangers.  As an example I had this happen on my forum in regards to the iodine in milk causing acne in some sensitive individuals.  The iodine supporters came down on me like crazy for that one making it sound like I said everyone taking iodine would get acne.  Even when I kept pointing out specifically some sensitive individuals they kept at it. They treat iodine like it is their God that can do no wrong so beware anyone who dares say otherwise.

I could say that Nyquil cured my common cold but I would be wrong, all it does is mask the symptoms and drive the true problem even deeper into the body, IMO.

Yes, you are right.  The symptoms of a cold are part of the body's trying to fight the infection.  To mask the symptoms just makes the underlying problem worse.

I could say that Aspirin cured my fever, but I would be wrong ... a fever is the body's natural response to pathogens in the body and IMO, Aspirin shuts down that natural response.

Exactly.  And as I pointed out in my post using iodine to rev up an already overactive thyroid in an attempt to shut the thyroid down by a negative feedback response is akin to using carcinogenic radiation or chemo to treat cancer.

So of course there are different ways of looking at things ... but why is it that if you're not pro-Lugol's on Curezone, the "group" invariably comes out to attack when they're losing the argument?

They cannot argue evidence so they group together and go with the name calling and person attacks in attempt to intimidate the person or wear them down and drive them away so the person will stop presenting evidence against their claims.  If they had any real evidence then they would present it because real evidence cannot be debated.  So the only option they have since they lack real evidence is to attack the messenger repeatedly until they give up.
