Re: our mom - urgent assistance needed: c2 vertabrae fracture and vertebrae dislocation
Yes, we think it was the lack of pressure from the concentrator. With the tank, the flask has produced very fine bubbles when we first started using it at the end of March (flow rate of 1/32 ug/mL). Unfortunately, our mom has pain in what she refers to as her "glands" (tonsils?) from cold water. She claims that it may be tonsilitis, as she had it when she was a little girl, but I don't think that the infection would survive while administering ozone. Maybe we can try room temperature (or slightly below) ozonated water instead, or is that pointless?
Some ozone will still dissolve in the water if warmer. The amount of ozone dissolving does increase with colder temperatures though.
She has also tried ear insufflation in addition to the others, but the pressure gives her a ringing in the head, and it causes her pain from it, she says. We were doing it through the ear because we were afraid that it may have been creeping up the spine and into the brain, but it may not be the case after all.
Ozone will readily enter the brain with ear insufflation as well. Actually more than from rectal insufflation.
Also, I should correct myself. Alex confirmed that she was in fact pushing it in only about half an inch, not 2 inches, since late March. This is coming from pushing it up 6 inches or more all those months prior to the hospital in mid-March.
That's better. Pushing it in 6 inches increases the risk of the tube plugging.
If she fell in the hospital, it must have been when she was sedated or in the operating room, as she has no recollection of it. Our grandma first saw her when she woke up, and said that she had a swollen lip and was apparently bleeding from her mouth, so they really must have did something to her during or right after surgery.
Yes, it sounds like she was dropped at some point. There is no other reason for the bleeding and swelling. This would not be from the surgery.
The surgeon said that he "felt" around her neck during surgery and found "tumors all over," which, as we now know, is simply untrue. Maybe he handled her roughly, or maybe he was being honest, or maybe he was trying to cover up something that they knew they did.
Since you are saying that she "may" need surgery, we will wait until you looked at the scans this weekend before we go ahead. Though her oncologist recommends surgery, so it will probably have to be done -- we would just like your opinion first based on the two images and report that we have e-mailed you. Another surgery and extended hospital visit is something that we'd like to avoid if we can.
I just sent Alex a response on this by e-mail.
