Re: Spiritual Highs
Vektek, you say among other things .....
{{{ He is the one that made us to have those feelings, along with other feelings. Our feelings are a huge part of us! But we just can't rely on them. I can't base my Christian walk on how I feel. I feel like God loves me more today, so that must mean that He does. I feel like God doesn't love me as much today, so ..... }}}
Well your welcome to your opinion and beliefs Vektek, but my belief is that God does not love you for God is Love.
The love we seek is Agape Love, the same love that Jesus looks upon us all whether we are sinners or not.
It's a love which never diminishes and I feel that if we possess that agape love from the Holy Spirit then indeed we too have feelings that also will never diminish.
In so doing one will never feel abandoned as one might feel if we do not possess that love towards others.
So the need for a "spiritual high" to necessitate our closeness to God is a misnomer and only happens when we truly are exalted in our glory to God.
Perhaps that video is the path that most of us walk when seeking God :)
