Re: Niacin
I hope I'm on the right forum; I' tried to do a niacin flush with 500mg. and had very rapid heartbeat. I am extremely concerned about what happened. Some sites say that it is a side effect and then some say it's safe.
The niacin flush is a vasodilation of the blood vessels including capillaries. It is not necessarily dangerous unless the person already has low blood pressure to begin with.
I know I started with a high dosage but, that was all I can find locally. I am interested in doing it again but with a lower dosage cause I loved the feeling I got with it. Everything felt open and I loved the warmth it was awesome! I rode my bike after taking it, then came back and did some leg exercises, took some benonite then showered. I didn't have time to sit in the sauna. But, when I got back after riding my bike I checked my heart beats and it was 120 a min. Freaked me out! I also felt light headed.
The expansion of the blood vessels leads to a drop in blood pressure causing the light headedness. As the blood pressure drops the heart rate also speeds up to compensate for the decreased blood flow.
Throughout the day, I guess I was releasing too many toxins cause I started feeling my neck and shoulder area hurt and went into a light headache. I couldn't wait to go to sleep. I didn't even sleep well and woke up feeling sluggish and headachey. I am currently starting to feel better as I write this.
I was hoping to find out if anyone has experience about doing this detox, I have toxins stored in my fat cells and no matter what I do I cannot release them but, I don't want to have a heart attack! I also found a homeopathic combo that I will try if this doesn't work or if it is highly recommened that i not do niacin flush.
Any info is appreciated, thanks in advance.
Have you tried bitters to cleanse your liver first? This will allow the body to start breaking down its fat stores.
As far as niacin, it is best to take it in smaller doses and with a large meal.
