Re: Iodine, the miracle detoxer?
I have tried loads of diets and supplements. The best so far is iodine, boron and companions.
Tried colostrum years ago (candida related issues for twenty+ years) no effect. Loads of probiotics, no effect. Rounds of yoghurt / kefir; no effect. Herbs, clay, silica gel, MSM,
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement , etc etc.
I was a vegetarian for 5 years, with a declining health the last two of them. I only took "natural" supplements at that time, that was a bad choice. I developed hypo T, had loads of infections, my body crashed, I could barely make it through a day.
Now I eat varied food, as much Weston Price as I can; I still take loads of fruits and veggies, like ten units or so daily.
I take 2-3 powdered herbs almost daily (for my adrenals), also have periodical rounds on wheat or barley grass. In addition I take the supplements as suggested here on the site, A good load of salt, real salt is a must for me.
vit C; 3-4 grams daily. vit B; low dosage as I am sensitive to it. 4-600 mg magnesium. 20 mg boron or more every other day. Approx 150 mg of iodine. 200 mcg selenium.
In addition I take a little zinc and vit E - A, periodically.
I pick greens like dandelion leaves and flowers for a fresh supplement, daily in the spring and summer.
Only real butter, coconut oil used in cooking; I am religious when it comes to fats. 95 of my food is made from scratch, except for on my travels.
At the moment I do a couple of tests; going gluten free, taking edible gold.
Think digestion before anything; to fix my digestion I had to cure my hypo T condition first. Adrenal issues needed to be taken care of too.
ACV and bitters helped a little when my digestion was poor, but vit B is the single most effective supplement I have taken for indigestion.
