I was having a 'spitting crisis' on my 29 day fast with thick mucous-y saliva, the last week or so--and I did not wait until it completely subsided. I never had vomiting, but, not waiting until I was on an upswing--but breaking when I was just tired of feeling weak and spitting mucous- meant that it took me at least two weeks to start feeling like my body was able to switch gears and start rebuilding itself. During that time I continued to feel weak and lacked genuine hunger.
It is like paddling upstream. Sounds as though you had entered another less-intense level of healing. I'd go back to the water, or, if you feel like you can't, then just go to clear home-made veg. broth and perhaps herb tea with honey for a few days, until your appetite and your digestive fire returns.
