Measurement of mag confusion (elemental magnesium)?

I bought Mag Malate, and it says 870 mg on the front, but on the back in brackets it says provides 100mg of elemental magnesium. So Im not sure how many capsules to take since I dont know if 1 capsule = 870mg of mag or if 1 capsule = 100mg of mag. Thanks
