Starting to get my life back--Here is what I did..

We've all been dealing with this for what seems to be an eternity but everyday we are closer to getting a medical cure for this. But in the mean time we CAN do things to manage the odor so that we can bring it down from a 10 to a 3 which is what happened to me. Keep reading to see what I did.

2 years ago the odor that i had was really really bad now its managable and I feel like the more things I do towards making it better (detoxing/cleansing, eating right, supplements etc)the more managable it gets. Now I can even work, go out in public and have lots of people around me without them getting the "sniffles"). The best part is that I feel like its getting better all the time :D

I will tell you what I did:
1) Pray and look to God for answers
-(Remember, ALL good things come from God and ALL bad things come from the devil) I got close to God in those 2 yrs I was depressed and ready to give up but God got me through it. I am living proof of how God can change your situation for the better.

2) Go see a Psycologist/therapist.
-This helped me change my outlook and mind set and stay positive in a negative situation. It also helped me cope with the daily stuggles of having an odor. My world changed once I changed my mindset. Its also good to talk to someone who can hear you out face to face. Doc says I became A "VICTOR NOT A VICTIM".

3) See medical doctors so they can rule out any underlying reasons causing the Body Odor .
-When I went to doctors they told me I had a bacteria in my stomach among other stomach issues.

4) Always research alternative remedies outside of conventional medicine.
- We all know the "there is no cure for tmau" line but that is ONLY TRUE FOR CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE. There are solutions outside of that but we just have to find and experiment with them since tmau is a rare and newly recognized disease. Researching supplements, dieting and detoxing methods has helped me find solutions that now make the odor manageable.

5)Dont isolate yourself.
-Be around people that care about you and love you.
Being around my family and true friends helped. I only had a few so called friends who didnt want to be around me so I no longer consider them friends and kicked them out of my life. This condition helped me realize who is worth keeping in my life and who is just taking up space. Meet up with friends in outdoor places where you will feel less worried about your odor. In the winter go ice skating at a rink or something like that and in the summer there are endless things to do outdoors.

6) Take up and activity or hobby to help you take your mind off the odor.
- I started jogging outside alone and I loved it! I never use to do that before b/c I had a gym membership but since the odor was so bad I stopped going to the gym.

7) Find a job that you can work from home or be outdoors or isolated.
- It was tough for me working a job with lots of contact with people and eventually I quit because I became paranoid of the odor while I was working. Eventually, I found a job where I could work outdoors and I didnt have to worry about that. There are some companies like 1800 flowers where you can work as an order processor and all you need is a phone and a computer.

8) Realize that your life is NOT over and this will not kill you.
- When I was going through that, I was just waiting to die and was not interested in living life to the fullest. Now I feel like I lost 2 years of my life. You have to have the mind set of "this is TEMPORARY and I WILL be getting though this but in the meantime I will NOT waste time being miserable b/c that will not solve the issue".

I know this is a long one but I hope that I can help & inspire everyone. Remember to push yourself spiritually, mentally and physically towards your healing--Dont just focus on the physical healing. It didnt happen overnight for me but I am just happy I got through it and in a much better place. I hope that everyone on this forum can overcome this too.

Best,
The Best Is Yet To Come :D
