Repelling insects

That's weird Ginagirl,

There's research that says efficacy of B vitamins against mosquito bites is low or none, but then there's many anecdotal stories for some it works like magic, yet not everyone. Is there a specific B vitamin blend, an isolate, or type of vitamin B that works better than others!? Are some of the anecdotal stories that failed using inferior B vitamins and saying it does not work!? I've read a bunch of people using B1 to ward of the pests.

I went out to mow a lawn one morning and the skeeters were all over me - I went back inside instead.

Quickly googling B1 and mosquitos, I found some anedotes of B1 trans-dermal patches that help protect against a plethora of bugs like flies and skeeters for 36 hours supposedly.

tons of stories here: http://altmedicine.about.com/b/2008/08/18/can-vitamin-b-protect-you-from-pesk...

I'll have to try it myself and report back how it goes. Not a fan of flying insect that land on me.
