One more question, how long should I chant the mantra OM AMI DEWA HRI ?

I did not know that animals can reincarnate into a human. This may be a punishment in some ways it would seem.

We may possess more intelligence, but animals seem happier, and they don't lie. Not like humans do anyway.

I don't know if I can chant that mantra in good faith if that would help send my dog's spirit to be reborn as a human. He doesn't deserve that! To be born into today's world of poverty, disease, pollution, corruption, unfairness and struggle?

What a contrast to being an overly pampered, spoiled pet!

I realize that we need to endure suffering on the path to enlightenment, but...

it is a dilemma.
