Plastic jug? I'd steer clear of anything in plastic - we get way too much BPA in everything already. Also anything in aluminum can has bpa from the lining of the can. Acidic things like meat and veggies (notoriously tomatoes as in tomato based soups) leach more BPA than anything else.

Did you know they coat thermal receipt paper with BPA?

Anyway my real point is to add up the cost long term. I just bought a distiller for $200 - all stainless steel inside and glass collection jug.
