Vision loss, blindness in left eye

After my daughter had the Mirena for a year she started having blurred/double vision, one of many side effects. This went on for another year or so. She is now 5+ months post removal and continues to have problems with decreased and blurred vision. She went to the Eye Doctor today and she was told that her vision in her left eye is basically GONE. The Dr is ordering tests and she is going back next week, but the Dr was baffled that her vision has went from 20/20 with corrective lenses, to being blind in her left eye. She is a 22 yrs old and has always just been a little near-sighted. Of course he asked her about health problems, medications, and she told him about her life threatening experiences/chronic health problems caused from the Mirena and everything she has been through in the last year or so. For any of you Mirena sufferers that have been down this road, or experienced debiliting affects to your vision, can you please let us know about your experience? The Eye Dr seemed baffled and concerned, but we hope to know more after the additional testing, but we wanted to give him as much information about other women who have had the Mirena and experienced vision loss.
