Thank you for that, I was being too general, I am not a medico, but I know most people can take lots more fluids before bed without necessarily needing to get up.
Most older adults I know are afraid to take fluids before bed and I believe (no studies) that the bladder fills more rapidly once you get to near waking or very light sleep and people mistake that for being woken up by a full bladder. Once I read about that I was more confident going back to sleep.
If I have a night of alcohol (heaven forbid these days)then certainly I will wake with a full bladder, but I can easily take two glasses of water before bed and not wake because of my full bladder.
For those who have strong urine in the morning I would suggest that they have more water at night (not tea, coffee etc.).
