Re: Candida symptoms will not subside

You know, it's possible that you may not have candida.

Do you suffer some kind of reaction when eating carb-heavy food?

I previously thought that I was suffering from candida as many of my symptoms tied-in. However in recent months, I have been eating brown rice, potatoes, beans, even brown bread, without experiencing any deterioration, so believe that my problems are more adrenal fatigue and digestion related.

I've been learning a little about Ayurvedic medicine (traditional Indian medicine), and recently had a consultation with an experienced Indian doctor. He was terrific, reading my pulse for around 1-2 minutes, before writing down a load of symptoms that I was probably experiencing - he even raised events in my history way back to my childhood that could contribute to my current limited energy today.

His overall belief was that I needed to boost my body's digestive, absorption, and circulation systems, and gave me a long list of dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

He suggested a number of spices that can be added to food to stimulate digestion and reduce gas/bloating, including drinking hot milk with ginger powder in the morning.

Another recommendation was to prepare an 'ojas' drink, consisting of dates, raisins, figs, and almonds, soaked in water overnight (the almonds soaked in different water and skins removed in the morning). Then everything is blended into a liquid, warmed in a pan, and drunk. It sounds a little strange, but tastes great, and is very comforting on the stomach.

Anyway, if you can, I recommend visiting a qualified B.A.M.S. ayurvedic doctor, who I'm hopeful will be able to give some suggestions to further improve your condition.

All the best!

J
