Re: Can I use Sodium Chlorite By Itself ? No Citric Acid ?

Hello 109287,

I've been experimenting with mouth rinsing with MMS/CDS and DMSO in various forms over the passed year(still do btw) and so I'll share some of my findings with you.

To begin with, I'd question how effective unactivated MMS(Sodium Chlorite) would be as a rinse. And I say this based on my own understanding of how and why MMS works. For example; if the power of MMS lay in its capacity to deliver chlorine dioxide into tissue etc. then how much chlorine dioxide would be released with unactivated Sodium Chlorite? Well... in essence, I suppose even water would activate Sodium Chlorite. Though I think this takes something like a day(24 hours) and so I'm really not sure how effective unactivated MMS would be in this particular case. Anyways, I'm not well versed on the chemistry side of things myself, and so perhaps someone else could brush-up on this bit if I'm off.

Having said that, here are some observations that I've gathered from my own treatments that may prove useful to you somehow. The first thing I'd state is that rinsing./soaking using activated MMS proved to be very hard or abrasive on the mouth(teeth, gums etc). And so I followed-up rinsing(soaking) with a baking soda solution immediately afterward. This really helped eliminate the raw feeling that was left on my teeth and gums afterward.

The second thing I would add is that changing from MMS to CDS proved to be far better in terms of abrasiveness and effectiveness. ie. I still use a baking soda rinse immediately after, but I can sometimes skip it without having that RAW feeling in my mouth afterward.  Additionally, I've found that DMSO works better with CDS than with MMS. And I think the reasons for that is due to the fact that the DMSO doesn't interact with the reaction with CDS(there's no mixing) whereas it likely interferes with the MMS at that level. Thus reducing the overall level of chlorine dioxide generated with the MMS as a result. - but that's just a theory.

Anyways, that about covers it I think.

As I said, I've been experimenting with soaking/rinsing my mouth and jaw over the course of a year now and I felt that the MMS was too harsh on my teeth and gums even with the rinse. However, the CDS seems to be less abrasive in this way and so I've stuck with the treatment with the least impact on your teeth.

Hope this helps.
JohnB

PS. CDS is the latest/newest form of MMS which will inevitably replace MMS altogether. Which is essentially Chlorine Dioxide infused in distilled water. AKA. No mixing, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea etc etc.
