coffee enemas revisited

Early on in my time in this forum I saw many mentions of how coffee enemas made people feel much better. Understanding that one still gets a caffeine dose despite being the unusual administration, and understanding that caffeine and all stimulants are contraindicated for "Adrenal Fatigue" sufferers, my response was, as you can imagine, negative. Sure, you feel good, but, aren't you going to be crashing or going to experience a low after stressing your adrenals?

Hopefully I tempered my message enough to single out the danger of the caffeine rather than to dismiss coffee enemas wholesale. I'm afraid to review the messages. I'm sure you could find them easily.

So, about coffee enemas... I noted at the time that coffee enemas were supposed, by action of palmitic acid interacting with the liver, to stimulate glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity. This seemed to me to be a potentially valuable effect, though I expected any benefit to be lost in the stimulant stress impact. I've been learning more and more lately about how glutathione and GST activity are valuable for detoxification. And I've been learning more and more about how "Adrenal Fatigue" sufferers have comorbid toxin issues.

Could it be that coffee enemas are a mixed blessing for Adrenal Fatigue? Is there a way to mitigate the stimulant stress downside of coffee enemas, leaving only the detox benefit? Would decaf do the job? Decaf coffees, at first glance, appear to have only 1-2% of the original caffeine content. Are there other sources of palmitic acid? Are the palmitic acids the only important/influential parts of the coffee enema?
