Mung beans are safe and easy to sprout.You can find mung bean sprouts at most quality grocery stores.

Buy them try them and go from there.

There are also soaks,such as buckwheat groats,sunflower sunnies which are super fast.

The easy sprout sprouter is the way to go.Mainly because they are easy,which is cool.
