Re: peg tube/feeding tube please help!!! for fledgling..

Hi there,

I clicked on the "last message posted" and I see my name the title of this one...


...Wish I could just reel off the answers you need but, this is the first I've heard of a PEG tube.

Since my stroke (July 15, 2009) I've sometimes had a condition where tiny bits of food stick in my large taste buds at the back of my throat and cause me to cough and gag, something awful.


Is a PEG tube for that kind of problem?


During my stay in hospital they put a sign over my bed---NOTHING BY STRAW---


Since I have been home I have been able to manage it, but I can't, in good conscience, tell you how...I am told that my way is dangerous.


A tube that bypasses this problem, safely, would be wonderful.


That's all I know or can guess.
