Another thing was that the study was only 4 weeks. Just enough time to stir up trouble, and not enough time to fix it. Increasing iodine encourages thyroid to get up and moving, but if there are other deficiencies or anti-thyroid agents present, thyroid will struggle to perform. Study seems designed to prove the bias of the researchers, i.e., that iodine supplementation is bad.
