I think the only iodine experts you should pay attention to are Brownstein, Flechas and Abrahams. The woman cited in the article stating that we are sufficient in iodine (Dr. Elizabeth Pearce) was not involved in the study (that was done in China, btw). She is taking a study done in China and extrapolating it as relevent to us in the US. As China becomes more and more westernized, they are going to be subjected to the same goitrogen type pollution as we are. There was nothing in the article that mentioned bromide and fluoride pollution. I personally have read studies that discuss the goiter belt in China. I would surmise that they are as deficient as we are and that the study was seriously flawed. The symptoms that were identified as hypo, were transient symptoms caused by bromide detox. This has been proven by Brownstein, et.al. as well as members here on this board.
