I'm sure there are some withdrawal effects from stopping benzos cold turkey... but it's usually the fact that the person never treated the underlying cause (infection, toxicity, hormones, adrenals, diet)

E.g. if one has Bartonella (known to disrupt CNS) and takes Ativan with success (sleep, anxiety, etc)... when the person STOPS Ativan the infection still remains and in fact has progressed further through the years.

Moral of story:
Treat underlying issues
