Gut Flora Recovery (Not) from a Weeklong Course of Clindamycin—
Still not Fully Recovered at 2 years After!
Hi all, Dr Jeff posted this link at “Ask Dr Jeff: Candida”
//www.curezone.org/forums/f.asp?f=766
Here’s the direct link to the article

My Note: Scroll down the picture of the body
to the picture graph to the left of the hand.
See title:
Antibiotics = Microbiome Killer…..some excerpts:
>>Studies have revealed some alarming costs of taking
Antibiotics ,
which don’t discriminate between disease-causing bacteria
and our natural microbiome.
>>Graphed below is the diversity of gut bacteria from
one important genus (Bacteroides) in a patient
who took a weeklong course of clindamycin ;
different colors represent the different species.
>>Even two years out,
the flora had not regained their former diversity.
My Note: The fight against Candida species is about more than just killing the Candida. The gut continues to be vulnerable to overgrowth of pathogens unless the natural microbiome is restored. Since the text does not indicate there was any intervention to assist recovery of the natural microbiome, I assume there wasn't any.
But this is where prebiotics and true probiotics can help.
Are you really going to gain back your health by using broad spectrum antimicrobials such as garlic,
Colloidal Silver , etc???.
Look at the bigger picture-recovery of natural microbiome.
