I am a bit perplexed.
It is/was recommended not to use Iodine for sinus rinse when congested but I had been thinking that Iodine unplugs mucous in the lungs so why would Iodine in congested sinuses be a no no if it loosens mucous? Why would it be any different than say using a few drops of peroxide for a like condition (congestion/cold/infection)?
I'm not suggesting to use this way regularly but when one needs. I had such good response with it clearing my sinuses.
I've also seen it used for enemas and bringing out mucous as well, so it just stands to reason if it can in this area and the lungs, then why not the sinuses?
