Re: mirena and rheumatoid arthritis

I had Mirena inserted 2/09 and started with extreme dry eyes about 6 months later which then progressed to severe foot and hand pain- and was eventually diagnosed with RA. I am now on Methotrexate and my sx seemed to improve dramatically initially. However, now my pain has returned. I'm not sure if I'm having a flare but didn't feel like I could even have a flare again because my body felt so good when I initially responded to Methotrexate. I am depressed once again about my joint pain. I have done some reading about Mirena and joint pain and I am scheduled to have it removed in 3 weeks (not soon enough). I know my string is missing so it may not be removed on that day if it can't be located. I have such strong feelings that the Mirena is the cause of my sx- and I am praying they will resolve once it is out. I've also had this left groin/leg/hip pain that bothers me once I stand up after sitting for a period of time- I've had this since 3 months after having Mirena inserted. I think the Mirena is pushing on a nerve or something and hope that this will resolve also. I will post back once I have Mirena removed- especially if my sx resolve.
