Yes, I appreciate that TCM is rather more complicated than simply 'take formula X to treat Y'.
I've been taking different Japanese herbal medicines for some time. One tea/soup I drink really helps with my constipation, however the effects wear off if I do not drink it regularly (e.g. 3 times a day, once every two days). Also, despite my improved bowel movements, I find I still suffer from headaches, coated tongue, and bloodshot/vein-y eyes. So, I'm consulting with both my acupuncturist and herbalist to find a suitable formula. However, my acupuncturist did not study five element theory, so it's a little challenging researching these things myself.
